Bowling Green To Be Given Todd County Money!!

The park board met on Mar 20th 2008. During the meeting Brent Spurlin stated the decision to use All Star sports was not a personal one but rather a business decision. First of all the park is not a business it is an area of our community where we should be able to go and relax, spend time with our families, teach our children teamwork and help them grow mentally and physically. Second the average cost of All Star photo packs is $30.00. With approximately 400 children playing just baseball and softball and if everyone ordered just at the average it would bring in $12,000.00 from the parents of the park.  It cost roughly $ 5.00 per order to produce the product leaving $10,000.00 for All Star Photography out of Bowling Green. The park will receive $2,000.00 of that. This will leave $8,000.00 of your money being removed from Todd County and placed in the Bowling Green economy. In that month alone that is $8,000.00 that will not get spent here in Todd County. Not at the Food Giant, the Restaurants, the Auto Shops, the hard ware store  or any place else in Todd County. In my opinion that is terrible business for Todd County!! With pittfanphotos out of Elkton, the average cost of orders from the parents last baseball / softball season was $15.00 and included more of the product you wanted. That came in at about $6,000.00 from the parents of the park. After production it left about $3,500.00. The park was given 10% of that money and the rest was spent right back into our economy in Todd County. The park does gain about $1,700.00 of the parents money to help the park. Our local economy losses $10,000.00 in a 1 month period!!  The parents of the park pay two times what they should be for photos and our elected officials are sending that money to boost Bowling Greens economy. Call me crazy but I do take that personal. Not as the owner of pittfanphotos, but as a parent of the park and a member of this community. Should I not care what the people I live with are being charged for photos? Should I just not care that decisions are being made that our economy, Todd Counties economy will pay for by the tens of thousands of dollars?    YES it is personal to me.
